DAVID HAGGARTY will be retiring as our Beadle & Hall Manager on Sunday, 7 September and we look forward to thanking David during the joint service in Cramond Kirk that Sunday and at a reception in the Hall following the service. If you would like to contribute to David’s retirement gift, donations can be made through Edinburgh Northwest Kirk’s Bank of Scotland account (sort code : 80-02-19, account number : 00185768 and please include “David’s Gift” as the reference). There are also envelopes at the Kirk doors for cash donations and these can be handed to the elders on duty or into the Kirk Office.
A TRIP TO PITLOCHRY We are arranging a day trip to Pitlochry on Monday, 1 September. If you’d like further details or wish to reserve a place, please let Louise in the Kirk Office know.
EDINBURGH NORTHWEST KIRK SESSION will be meeting in Cramond Kirk Hall at 7.15 pm on Monday, 1 September. All are welcome to attend and participate in the meeting although only members of the Kirk Session are permitted to vote on issues.
COMMUNION CARDS & DISTRICT LISTS The next joint Communion service is being held in Cramond Kirk on Sunday, 7 September. District elders are welcome to collect their up-to-date list of district members from the Session House and Communion cards are also available for any elder wishing to deliver them.
JOINING THE CHURCH If you or anyone you know is interested in finding out more about becoming a member of the Church of Scotland, Reverend Julia Cato will be holding enquirers’ evenings over the next month and new members will join the Church during the 10.30 am service on Sunday, 5 October. Please contact Rev Julia Cato if you’d like to find out more.
ENK BOOK CLUB : PRACTISING THE WAY A book club, both in person and online, will be running on alternate Wednesday evenings from September to November, starting on 3 September. There is no need to commit to all the sessions and no Church or Bible background is needed. The Club will be exploring John Mark Comer’s book, Practising the Way, which looks at incorporating spiritual disciplines into daily life to foster a deeper connection with God through the teachings of Jesus. CRAMOND COFFEE & CHAT is on every Monday from 10.30 am to 12 noon in the Gathering Space of Cramond Kirk Hall and all are welcome.
‘THE PLACE TO BE’ COFFEE MORNING is held in Pennywell Kirk Hall every Monday at 10 am with an outing on the first Monday of the month. Further details are available from Violetta on 07305 848150. All are welcome.
A GAMES & MOVIE AFTERNOON is being held in Pennywell Kirk Hall on Sunday, 24 August. From 1 pm to 3 pm it’s games time followed at 3.30 pm by the film “Love Never Dies”, a follow up to The Phantom of the Opera. All are welcome.
A PRAYER WALK The next monthly prayer walk around the Pennywell area is being held on Monday, 25 August from 1 pm to 2 pm with light snacks and tea to follow. All are welcome. Please meet at Pennywell Kirk garden at 1 pm.
A CHILDREN’S AUTUMN HOLIDAY CLUB is being held in Cramond Kirk Hall on Monday, 15 September from 9 am to 3.30 pm with the option of morning, afternoon or a full day of fun, games and crafts. The club is open to children aged 4 – 12. Further details and registration forms are available by emailing enkholidayclub@gmail.com. And if anyone is happy to help, please contact Louise in the Kirk Office.
FRESH START PACKING Every Thursday morning Rotary and Cramond volunteers help put together starter packs of kitchen items for newly housed people. This is not difficult work and only involves about one hour’s work a month. We are looking for additional regular volunteers and also reserves to cover for holidays etc. Anyone interested should contact Alec Dunn at alec.dunn4kc@gmail.com or on 336 1251.
FRESH START are currently in need of tumblers and frying pans. Any donations can be left on the Fresh Start table in the Kirk Hall at any time or delivered to the Fresh Start warehouse at 22-24 Ferry Road Drive from Mon–Thurs, 9 am – 4 pm.

LIVE STREAMING Please note that the 10 am service at Cramond Kirk and the 11 am service at Pennywell Kirk are live streamed to the Kirk website every Sunday morning. The cameras will focus on the front of the Kirks – the pulpit, lectern and Communion Table. However some of those sitting at the front may also be in camera shot.
