EDINBURGH NORTHWEST KIRK SESSION will be meeting in Pennywell Kirk Hall at 7 pm on Thursday, 19 June. All are welcome to attend and participate in the meeting although only members of the Kirk Session are permitted to vote on issues.
PENNYWELL SUMMER SALE Pennywell are holding their summer sale from 10 am – 12 noon on Saturday, 21 June and would love to see you there. If anyone is able to help with setting up between 2 pm and 4 pm on Friday, 20 June, please let Louise know and any donations of home baking are always welcome.
RIDE TO THE SUN On Saturday, 21 June our Session Clerk Edith and friends will once more be taking to the saddle and cycling the 100 miles from Carlisle to Cramond … overnight! This year Edith is raising money for Christian Aid. If you would like to support her, donations can be made HERE. There is also a sponsorship form on the desk in the Session House.
A SUMMER PICNIC To welcome the start of the summer holidays we’d like to invite everyone to join us for a picnic in the Kirk Hall grounds following the joint Communion service in Cramond Kirk at 10.30 am on Sunday, 6 July. Please bring your own picnic and we’ll be glad to provide teas, coffees and juice.
‘THE PLACE TO BE’ COFFEE MORNING is held in Pennywell Kirk Hall every Monday at 10 am. All are welcome.
CRAMOND COFFEE & CHAT is on every Monday from 10.30 am to 12 noon in the Gathering Space of Cramond Kirk Hall and all are welcome.
CONGRATULATIONS to Heather, Cathy, Lindsay and Jane in the Gathering Space café who have received an award from Home Instead Edinburgh whose clients and carers voted it the best for its welcoming atmosphere and the service the staff provide.
CAN YOU HELP We are in need of a few more volunteers to help with the teas and coffees on a Sunday morning. If you are able to spare a couple of hours every 4 – 6 weeks, please be in touch with Louise in the Kirk Office.
CHANGE OF DATE FOR THE PRAYER WALK The next monthly prayer walk around the Pennywell area is being held on Monday, 23 June (not the 16th) from 1 pm to 2 pm with light snacks and tea to follow. All are welcome. Please meet at Pennywell Kirk garden at 1 pm.
PRAISE GATHERING 2025 Celebrating 40 years of concerts, the Praise Gathering Choir, with over 400 on stage, will be performing in the Usher Hall on Saturday, 21 June at 7 pm (and at Glasgow Concert Hall on 14 & 15 June). Tickets range from £24.50 to £34.50 and are available online HERE.
THE CRAMOND WALKERS final walk of this session is on Wednesday, 18 June and a walk from Strathclyde Park across the Clyde and along the river Avon to Chatelherault, returning by a similar route (12 km). Meet : Barnton Avenue West at 10 am or at the car park at Loch in Strathclyde Park at 10.50 am. Further information is available HERE.
A NEW BEGINNING The Bristo Community Concert Band will be performing at Corstorphine Craigsbank Parish Church on Saturday, 28 June at 7 pm. Please join them for an evening of joyful and uplifting music. Tickets, for a suggested donation of £5, will be available at the door on the night.
MANY THANKS FROM MARY’S MEALS Our recent donation of leftover and out of date currency has raised £161.47 for Mary’s Meals taking the total we have raised so far to £526.33 or in other words 5,263 school meals for children most in need. If you are travelling this summer and have any currency left over on your return, donations are always welcome and can be left in the currency box in the Session House.
FRESH START Many thanks for the recent donations which are always welcome and can be left on the Fresh Start table in the Kirk Hall at any time or delivered to the Fresh Start warehouse at 22-24 Ferry Road Drive from Mon–Thurs, 9 am – 4 pm.

LIVE STREAMING Please note that the 10 am service at Cramond Kirk and the 11 am service at Pennywell Kirk are live streamed to the Kirk website every Sunday morning. The cameras will focus on the front of the Kirks – the pulpit, lectern and Communion Table. However some of those sitting at the front may also be in camera shot. For those of you watching from home, the link to Cramond Kirk's live stream can be found HERE and Pennywell Kirk's service is available HERE. The live services will also be available to watch later on Facebook and on the website.
